Das Pentapeptide Repeat besteht aus Wiederholungseinheiten der AminosΓ€uresequenz Ala-Asp/Asn-Leu und zwei beliebigen AminosΓ€uren (kurz: A(D/N)LXX). Die Funktion ist bisher unbekannt, mΓΆglicherweise ist das Pentapeptide Repeat ein proteinbasiertes Strukturanalogon von DNA.cite-ref-shah-3-0[3] Einige Proteine mit Pentapeptide Repeat sind als Ξ²-Helix aufgebaut, mit einem ungefΓ€hr quadratischen Querschnitt.cite-ref-shah-3-1[3]
